Lazy J's Peanut Patch

Here's the newest project at the farm. We had +- 6 acres sprigged in perennial peanut. It doesn't look like much, but the picture on the bottom is the first that has emerged. After a year or so, the field should be completely covered. Our plan is to cut it for hay to sell. It makes a great feed for pretty much all livestock and horses. It doesn't need to be fertilized and there are no pests that pose a major problem for it. Special thanks to the Crews Brothers for the loan of the irrigation gun to make sure it gets established while we wait for regular rain.
