Getting Bigger Everyday!

We're at about 6 1/2 months now - yea!! Everything is still progressing as it should. We start our newborn, CPR and labor & delivery classes in June. I'm feeling great and we can't wait to meet the little guy soon!

Another Project......

We have another Massey Ferguson to feed John's tractor fetish. Isn't Ebay great:) This was purchased this week with the intent of only using it for parts for the 175 we already have. But, after a little TLC, John got it running, so we'll see what the future holds for lastest member of the barn.

Lazy J's Peanut Patch

Here's the newest project at the farm. We had +- 6 acres sprigged in perennial peanut. It doesn't look like much, but the picture on the bottom is the first that has emerged. After a year or so, the field should be completely covered. Our plan is to cut it for hay to sell. It makes a great feed for pretty much all livestock and horses. It doesn't need to be fertilized and there are no pests that pose a major problem for it. Special thanks to the Crews Brothers for the loan of the irrigation gun to make sure it gets established while we wait for regular rain.

Everything is Growing!!

John and I started our spring garden about two months ago. We planted the potatoes first (since they could handle the chance of a freeze). Then we did the rest later - acre peas, butter beans, peppers, squash, cucumbers, tomatoes and watermelons. It's all been grown organically, so far all the bugs have been kept at bay. And thanks to the dogs, we don't have to worry about rabbits, deer, etc sneaking in the fence. Somebody does need to get busy weeding, though.
The potatoes did great! Look at the size of that new potato! The rest is looking great as well and should be ready for picking in a month or so.
We also starting growing herbs for cooking. I think they've already paid for themselves!

Cookout at Travis & Kate's

We went up to Travis and Kate's this weekend for a cookout. They have a gorgeous place and it's always so much fun to go up there and hang out. Kate is due 6 weeks after me, also with a boy. So here is the first official picture of Warren and Mason together (well sort of:) I'm sure there will be many more hunting and fishing pictures of these two together in the near future!
I can't believe how fast AJ, Aubrey and Gavin are growing up. It's so entertaining to watch them all play together. They each definitely have their own little personalities. I can't wait till we have our little one in the mix!!
